TREAT YOUR JOINTS NATURALY

TREAT YOUR JOINTS NATURALY

About Arthritis

Arthritis is a progressive inflammatory condition caused when the soft muscles in the joints become inflamed, severely restricting the movement of the joint and causing a lot of pain and discomfort. In older people, who are most susceptible to this condition, arthritis is the leading cause of restriction of movement or immobility. Arthritis is a condition that we are all quite familiar with and even if you haven’t been afflicted with the condition it is most likely that you are acquainted with someone who is. Arthritis is a degenerative condition that affects the joints causing severe pain and greatly reducing mobility. In severe cases and if neglected the effects can be debilitating. Arthritis is typically associated with old age and although most prevalent among the aged it can affect almost anyone, but this it is uncommon among young adults and children. Arthritis may not be a life threatening condition but it is a dreaded condition because of the extent to which it affects your life. Simple tasks and routines that we normally take for granted can become quite a challenge. For example, arthritis in the hands, wrists or fingers can make working at the computer near impossible. While it can be quite debilitating it is not unmanageable. Arthritis can be managed and controlled to minimize its impact on your life. But to effectively control and treat the condition you need to be well informed and understand the condition.

The word 'arthritis' means 'inflammation of the joints'. It is derived from two Greek words: athron, meaning joints; and itis, meaning inflammation. It is, generally, a chronic disease process. Arthritis occurs in various forms, the most frequent being osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint disease which usually occurs in the older age-group. Rheumatoid arthritis is a serious disease which affects not only the joints of the fingers, wrists, hips, knees, and feet, but also the muscles, tendons and other tissues of the body.

Arthritis Picture
There are a lot of different kinds of arthritis, categorized according to the extent of wear and tear in the joints and the cartilaginous tissues. Sometimes, the inflammation could be caused due to excessive wear and tear of the joints. However, the inflammation could also be caused due to autoimmune disorders. Such disorders, in which the immune system attacks the joints, are one of the leading causes of arthritis and rheumatism.

There are various types of arthritis but most forms of the condition do cause some amount of swelling and pain the joints, so if you do experience pain and stiffness in any of the joints in your body on a regular basis then it is possible that you may be suffering from arthritis. All of our bodily movements and our mobility or flexibility is dependent on the proper functioning of the joints. Swelling or inflammation of the joints, which is typical of most types of arthritis, can however cause the joints to get severely damaged over time. Some forms of arthritis can even cause problems in organs like the eyes or skin.

Osteoarthritis is one of the most common manifestations of arthritis and this usually develops as a result of aging or due to some injury. Some types of arthritis may also develop as a result of your immune system turning on your own body. The immune system which normally protects against infections may begin attacking your own body’s tissue in this type of arthritis, with rheumatoid arthritis being the most common. Although arthritis is by and large associated with old age or aging, the condition can also affect children. Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis is fortunately a very rare condition. At times arthritis may develop as a result of an infections spreading from one part of the body to the joint, and this is termed as infectious arthritis.

Arthritis may be a degenerative condition to which there is no permanent cure, but treatment can help to manage and control arthritis, reducing its effect on your everyday life. The main focus of arthritis treatment, whether with conventional treatment or with natural arthritis remedies is towards preventing further deterioration of the joints and to increase and preserve mobility, while restricting arthritis pain. Arthritis pain relief and management is best achieved through a combination of medical treatments and natural remedies or self care that could include specialized arthritis diet plans, lifestyle routines, and physiotherapy that may include specific exercises like yoga or pilates.

Arthritis in the hands and feet or hips can be particularly problematic during pregnancy. Women suffering from arthritis should give serious thought to a decision to get pregnant because of the risk of complications.

Arthritis symptoms

Pain and Stiffness in the Joints, Anaemia, Colitis

The main symptoms of osteoarthritis are pain and stiffness in the joints. The pain usually increases after exercise. Rheumatoid arthritis is often called the 'cooked food disease'. lt usually develops gradually over several months, with persistent pain and stiffness in one or more joints. Ultimately the whole body is affected. Symptoms include anemia, colitis, constipation, deformed hands and feet.

The gradual onset of osteoarthritis will typically cause symptoms like a progressive stiffening of the joints and some amount of pain but there is unlikely to be any noticeable swelling, or fever and chills.

Rheumatoid arthritis can cause symptoms like painful swelling and inflammation of the joints with stiffness, usually affecting the fingers, legs, arms and wrists. These symptoms are generally most severe when you wake up each morning.

If you experience joint inflammation and tenderness or pain that is also accompanied by a fever or chills then it is very likely that what you are experiencing could be infectious arthritis or some other disease that causes arthritis like symptoms.

Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis could cause symptoms like weight loss and a loss of appetite or anemia and fever in children. You may also notice the appearance of blotchy rashes on the arms and legs.

If the onset of the pain and inflammation is very sudden and is accompanied by redness and tenderness then there is a high possibility that it is the beginning of gout.

Cause of Arthritis

Structural Changes in the Articular Cartilage in the Joints

Osteoarthritis results from structural changes in the articular cartilage in the joints, usually those which are weight-bearing, such as the spine and knees.

Hormonal Imbalance, Physical and Emotional Stress

Rheumatoid arthritis is due to an inflammation of the synovium or lining of the joints. This is accompanied by swelling and eventually leads to deformity. The condition may be caused by hormonal imbalance, physical and emotional stress, infection, severe fright, shock, and injury.

Heredity

Hereditary factors may also be responsible for the onset of this disease.

Arthritis Causes

There are various types of arthritis and accordingly a number of possible causes. Arthritis generally does involve a breakdown and deterioration of cartilage however, which is essential for protection of the joints to enable smooth movement. With the destruction of or loss of cartilage there is some amount of friction as the bones make contact causing severe pain and swelling. The causes of arthritis in the back, neck, hips, knees, elbows, wrists, and ankles or other joints could be attributed to various factors such as autoimmune diseases, bone damage, general wear and tear or aging, or because of infection. If caused by some other condition the inflammation or other symptoms of arthritis should resolve once the infection has been treated or the injury healed. At times however the condition will not resolve even after the elimination of the cause as you may have developed chronic arthritis. Arthritis like osteoarthritis is also age related and it will not go away completely.

Some factors that put you at risk of developing arthritis however include being overweight. Obesity may cause arthritis to develop a lot more easily because of the high amount of stress and pressure on the joints. Performing certain repetitive movements like repeatedly hammering at a nail or batting could put stress on the concerned joint, which is why construction workers or baseball players for example are at risk. A lack of physical activity also contributes to deterioration and muscle or tissue loss and may contribute to arthritis. An unhealthy diet that is excessively high in fat or previous injuries to a joint may also contribute to the eventual development of arthritis.

Home Remedies for Arthritis

Arthritis Treatment using Potato Juice

The raw potato juice therapy is considered one of the most successful biological treatments for rheumatic and arthritic conditions. It has been used in folk medicine for centuries. The traditional method of preparing potato juice is to cut a medium-sized potato into thin slices, without peeling the skin, and place the slices overnight in a large glass filled with cold water. The water should be drunk in the morning on an empty stomach. Fresh juice can also be extracted from potatoes. A medium-sized potato should be diluted with a cup of water and drunk first thing in the morning.

Arthritis Treatment using Other Raw Juices

One cup of green juice, extracted from any green leafy vegetable, mixed in equal proportions with carrot, celery, and red beet juices is good for arthritis. The alkaline action of raw juices dissolves the accumulation of deposits around the joints and in other tissues. A cup of fresh pineapple juice is also valuable, as the enzyme bromelain in fresh pineapple juice reduces swelling and inflammation in osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Arthritis Treatment using Sesame Seeds

A teaspoon of black sesame seeds, soaked in a quarter cup of water and kept overnight, has been found to be effective in preventing frequent joint pains. The water in which the seeds are soaked should also be taken along with the seeds first thing in the morning.

Arthritis Treatment using Copper

Drinking water kept overnight in a copper container accumulates traces of copper, which is said to strengthen the muscular system. A copper ring or bracelet is worn for the same reason.

Arthritis Treatment using Calcium

Studies have shown that calcium can help arthritis. Several patients have discovered that joint pains have either been relieved or have disappeared entirely after taking calcium. This mineral should be taken in the form of calcium lactate. Two teaspoons of calcium lactate, each teaspoon providing 400 mg of absorbable calcium, may be taken three times daily in water, before meals for at least four months.

Arthritis Ttreatment using Garlic

Garlic is another effective remedy for arthritis. It contains an anti-inflammatory property which accounts for its effectiveness in the treatment of this disease. Garlic may be taken raw or cooked according to individual preference.

Arthritis Treatment using Bananas

Bananas, being a rich source of vitamin B6, have proved useful in the treatment of arthritis. A diet of only bananas for three or four days is advised in treating this condition. The patient may eat eight or nine bananas daily during this period and nothing else.

Arthritis Treatment using Lime

Lime has also been found beneficial as a home remedy for arthritis. The citric acid found in lime is a solvent of uric acid which is the primary cause of some types of arthritis. The juice of one lime, diluted with water, may be taken once a day, preferably first thing in the morning.

Arthritis Treatment using Alfalfa

A tea made from the herb alfalfa, especially from its seeds, has shown beneficial results in the treatment of arthritis. One teaspoon of alfalfa seeds may be added to one cup of water. Three to four cups of this tea should be taken daily by arthritics for at least two weeks.

Arthritis Treatment using Green Gram Soup

Another home remedy found useful in relieving pains in the joints is the use of green gram soup. This soup should be prepared by mixing a tablespoon of green gram in a cup of water, with two crushed garlic cloves. It should be taken twice a day.

Arthritis Treatment using Castor Oil

Treatment with castor oil has been found beneficial in arthritis. The procedure, as prescribed by a Spanish doctor, is to boil two tablespoons of castor oil over a stove burner. The oil should then be poured into a glass of fresh orange juice and taken before breakfast daily till the disease is cured. It was advised to patients to take it for three weeks, wait for another three weeks and then repeat it again for another three weeks. It is, however, essential that the patient must take an alkaline diet while adopting this mode of treatment otherwise the value of the treatment will be lost.

Arthritis Treatment using Coconut or Mustard Oil

Warm coconut oil or mustard oil, mixed with two or three pieces of camphor should be massaged on stiff and aching joints. It will increase blood supply, and reduce inflammation and stiffness with the gentle warmth produced while massaging. Camphorated oil is an ancient rubefacient used for the purpose.

Home Remedies for Arthritis

While arthritis almost always requires medical attention to slow down the degeneration of the joints, a lot of people prefer natural arthritis treatment. This approach is usually slow, but is free of side effects. The treatment of rheumatoid arthritis ranges from herbal remedies to joint replacement surgeries. Depending on the condition and the severity of the damage to the joints, a doctor would recommend treatments.

A lot of people consume garlic to treat their arthritis. You can consume raw garlic with a glass of water, and if that is not acceptable to you, you can even get yourself some garlic supplements. If there is swelling and redness in your joints, you can apply roasted fenugreek seeds, soaked in mustard oil to the joints. These help reduce the redness and the swelling in the joints, giving you a larger range of motion.

Another important thing to do is to pay attention to your diet. Drink lots of fluids so that the body tissues, especially those in the joints, remain hydrated. This would help to maintain the health of your joints.

Arthritis Diet

Take fruits and vegetables in the form of salads

The diet of an arthritis patient should be planned so as to produce alkalinity in the blood. It should include fruits and vegetables in the form of salads, and, at least, two cooked vegetables. In severe cases, it would be advisable to put the patient on raw vegetable juice therapy three times a day, for about a week. Repeated juice fasts are recommended at intervals of every two months.

Other Arthritis Treatments

Keep Body Warm, Don't Bandage Joints

The body should be kept warm at all times . Joints should not be bandaged tightly as this limits movement and interferes with the free circulation of blood.

Take Rest, Should have Plenty of Indirect Ventilation

There should be plenty of indirect ventilation in the bedroom. Rest is advised when there is acute inflammation in the joints.

Sea Bathing

Sea bathing has been found valuable in arthritis. The natural iodine in sea water is said to relieve arthritis pain. As is well known, Iodine regulates the acid-alkaline balance in the blood and tissues, helps to repair and regenerate worn out tissues and nourishes the skeletal structure. It enters into the thyroid gland's secretion. The hormone uses the iodine to cleanse the internal toxins. If sea bathing is not possible, the patient should relax for thirty minutes every night in a tub of warm water, in which a cup of common salt has been mixed. The minerals in the salt, especially Iodine, will be absorbed through the pores of the skin. This will help correct an internal imbalance.

In the last 10 years, asthma cases have risen 50% worldwide. Asthma is a chronic lung condition that is characterised by difficulty in breathing that is caused by obstruction of the airways. It can develop at any age. During an asthma attack, spasms in the muscles surrounding the bronchi constrict, impeding the outward passage of air. Symptoms of an asthma attack include coughing, wheezing, tightness in the chest and difficulty in breathing. An “attack” can last for minutes or several hours. Typically, an attack begins within minutes after exposure to a triggering agent. Some patients have only occasional or ‘seasonal’ symptoms, while others have daily symptoms.
There are two forms of asthma stimuli -- allergic and non-allergic; An Allergic attack is normally triggered from exposure to allergies or irritants. Common asthma-provoking allergens include cold air, animal secretions, sugar, pollen, pets, chemicals, drugs, dust, mites, environmental pollutants, food additives, MSG, fumes and tobacco smoke to name a few. RECOMMENDED FOOD SUPPLEMENT - SPIRULINA
The effect of spirulina in the treatment of bronchial asthma

Resume / Abstract

(1) Department of Foods and Nutrition, M.S. University of Baroda, Vadodara, Gujarat, INDIA

(2) Department of Medicine, Medical College, Vadodara, Gujarat, INDIA

The present study was undertaken to study the effectiveness of spirulina supplementation in the treatment of bronchial asthma. Thirty-four adult asthmatics with mild to moderate degree of bronchial asthma were enrolled and divided into three groups, namely, Group A (medication), Group B (spirulina) and Group C (spirulina + medication). The intervention was done with spirulina that was administered at 1 g/day. The lung functions and biochemical parameters were monitored at baseline and at the end of first and second month. The dietary history revealed a poor intake of protective antioxidant vitamins. An increasing trend in serum total proteins and its fractions was observed in both the groups fed spirulina. Significant improvement in lung function were observed in all three groups, the quantum being similar in groups A and B and most optimal in Group C. It is concluded that spirulina alone has been equally beneficial as medication alone over two months period in treating mild to moderate asthma. The most optimal improvement was observed when medication and spirulina were administered together. The results of this study suggest that long-term supplementation of spirulina for more than two months on daily basis can optimise an improvement of bronchial asthma.

NATURAL TREATMENT FOR GOUT

 GOUT AND HERBAL TREATMENT

Gout is a disease that has seen an increased occurrence in the last couple of decades. There was a time when it was known as ‘the disease of kings’ or ‘rich man’s disease’, because of its predisposition to afflict portly people mostly from the upper strata of society. This, however, is no more the case, with the disease being increasingly common among individuals of both sexes, due to certain lifestyle factors such as dietary changes, increased life expectancy, and metabolic syndrome.

So, what is gout? Gout is a medical condition of the joints, and it is characterized by recurrent inflammatory attacks of an acute nature. This form of arthritis presents as a joint disease with tender, red, swollen and hot joints, which are painful to touch. The big toe is the joint most commonly affected. However, as the disease progresses, other joints like the foot and knee are also involved.
Natural Home Remedies for Gout, Cures

Gout is generally caused when there is an elevated level of uric acid in the blood. This uric acid then crystallizes, and the crystal deposits collect in the joints, tendons, and tissues, especially in the extremities such as the big toe and the knee.

A clinical diagnosis of this disease is confirmed when the uric acid crystals are seen in the joint fluid on microscopic examination.

Symptoms of Gout

The signs and symptoms of gout are very acute, with a sudden onset. They are characterized by the following:

•
Severe Joint Pain: There may be severe pain in the big toe, feet, knees, ankles or hands, with patients describing the sensation of warmth in the affected part. Such pain can last for a day or a week, and may gradually go away depending on treatment.

•
Itchy and Peeling Skin: Once the bout of pain and inflammation subsides, the skin in the affected area feels itchy and may peel off.

•
Inflammation and Redness: The affected patient’s joints will be red, tender and swollen.

•
Fever: In some patient’s, fever is also an accompanying symptom.

•
Decreased Flexibility: Patients may also experience limited or reduced mobility, indicating loss of flexibility.

•
Nodules: In some cases, it is seen that gout can present as tophi (nodules) and appear in the hands, elbows or ears.

•
No Symptoms: In some patients there may be no symptoms at all. Such cases may go on to develop into a a chronic form of gout.

Causes of Gout

Gout occurs when the uric acid levels in the blood are high. Uric acid is formed when chemicals known as purines (available in the food we eat) are broken down by the human body. Purine is a natural chemical produced by the body and is also a part of foods such as anchovies, mushrooms, asparagus, and herring. These purines produce uric acid, which dissolves and is excreted by the human body through urine. However, if these levels increase drastically, then the excess begins to accumulate in the joints causing gout and the characteristic pain, inflammation and swelling.

Remedies of Gout

Since gout is a disease caused by excess accumulation of uric acid in the blood, the condition can be remedied by making suitable dietary modifications. Cutting down on purine rich foods will lower uric acid levels in the blood stream and thereby prevent accumulation in the joints. Medications can only offer symptomatic relief by reducing the pain and inflammation for a period of time. Therefore, they should never be relied on alone to provide relief from gouty symptoms. Since there are other factors that contribute to the development of the disease and flaring of symptoms it would be practical to make lifestyle modifications that can help reduce the severity of symptoms and the frequency of flare ups.

•
It has been seen that drinking alcohol can aggravate the problem. This is because alcohol increases the production of urate and impairs its excretion. Avoiding alcohol is therefore a definite way to minimize the accumulation of urates.

•
Certain medications have been found to contribute to hyperuricemia, and avoiding these has been found to present positive results. These medications include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and diuretics. Contact your health care provider before discontinuing or switching any medications.

•
Obesity is also found to be a contributing factor in increasing blood urate levels. Therefore, losing weight is found to have beneficial results.

•
Gout pain is also found to be greatly improved by the avoidance of foods that contain high levels of purines, such as shellfish, bacon, and organ meats.

Relief from the symptoms of gout can actually be achieved to great affect with natural methods alone, involving diet and lifestyle modifications. Although these might be called ‘alternative therapies’, they should complement and not replace medication. Making such changes will however help to reduce your dependence on and need for medications.

Some of the natural remedies with beneficial results are as follows.

Vitamin C:
Latest evidence seems to suggest that vitamin C may play a big role in reducing blood uric acid levels. Many studies have been undertaken to prove this point. In one study of 184 people, half were asked to take vitamin C supplements (500 milligrams per day) and the other half were asked to take a placebo. After two months, the people taking vitamin C saw a significant reduction in uric acid levels compared to those who were on placebo. Like this, many other studies too suggested similar trends. Although not conclusive, it is thought that vitamin C may help to either prevent or treat gout to a large extent.

Vitamin C can be consumed in the supplement form, but on the advice of a doctor, or as a part of the natural diet. Citrus fruits, bananas, and watermelons are among the best sources of vitamin C in its natural form. Cherries too are very popular as a home remedy for gout, and although the research is inadequate, they are believed to help reduce uric acid levels in blood significantly.

Yoga, traditional Chinese medicine, acupressure, acupuncture, and aromatherapy are also some of the alternative treatment methods that people opt for. However, it is best to consult a doctor or professional before trying any of these at home.

Diet for Gout

Although it has been seen that the very presence of uric acid in the body is actually a result of the metabolism of naturally occurring purine in certain foods, eating purine rich foods also contributes to increased uric acid levels in the blood.

Various studies have shown that diets high in purine rich foods including red meat, sea food, and meat organs should be avoided. Instead, try and follow a low-fat diet with low fat dairy products, whole grains, and citrus fruits like limes, also including carrot juice as such diets tend to bring about a significant reduction in purine levels in the blood.

Disease Name : Amnesia (Impairment of Memory)

Disease Name : Amnesia (Impairment of Memory)

Description: Partial or complete loss of memory and inability to form new memories. This may result from health problems or events in life, such as an accident. It may also result from damage to the brain from injuries, including head injury, stroke or a result of disease, such as alcohol, or chronic drug abuse or psychological trauma or stress.
Persons most commonly affected: All age groups and both sexes.
Organ or part of body involved: Brain
Symptoms and indications: Most often amnesia is caused by a head injury called a concussion. A concussion is defined as a temporary loss of consciousness due to head trauma. Following a concussion people feel dazed. In cases of severe concussion, people may suffer seizures, but this is not very common. The amnesia associated with concussions is such that the victim only forgets what happened to them just prior to the head trauma. Generally, the amnesia lasts only seconds to minutes, but in cases of severe trauma, the amnesia may involve weeks to months of the victim not remembering anything. This can be very disconcerting for the person. The amnesia gradually gets resolved from more distant to more recent memories. Sometimes small bits and pieces will remain forgotten or foggy. For the most part, amnesia is always temporary and very limited.
Causes and risk factors: Causes may range from brain damage to a psychological reason. The main cause is the impairment of brain cells by diseases which affect them directly or indirectly, due to a poor blood supply caused by circulatory diseases. Several medications, alone or in combination, can cause memory loss, as can underlying illnesses like depression, thyroid problems, and chronic fatigue. Sometimes even allergic reactions to food can impair memory. Poor digestion can be at the root of memory problems, as can a hormone imbalance.
Prevention: Amnesia is only preventable in so far as brain injury can be prevented or minimized. Common sense approaches include wearing a helmet when bicycling or participating in potentially dangerous sports, using automobile seat belts, and avoiding excessive alcohol or drug use. Brain infections should be treated swiftly and aggressively to minimize the damage due to swelling. Victims of strokes, brain aneurysms, and transient ischemic attacks should seek immediate medical treatment.
Tips: Almond is very useful in poor memory caused by weakness of brain. It contains unique properties to remove brain debility and to strengthen it. It preserves the vitality of the brain and cures ailments originating from nervous disorders.

Walnut is another unique dry fruit valuable in brain weakness.

Irregular Habit of Defecation, Lack of Physical Activity

Other causes include faulty and irregular habit of defecation, frequent use of purgatives, weakness of abdominal muscles due to sedentary habits, lack of physical activity, and emotional stress and strain.

In addition to the above mentioned causes it should be pointed out that stress can also contribute to the problem, as do anxiety or depression. No matter what the cause treating constipation with laxatives will simply offer temporary relief, but not a permanent cure to the problem. Long term changes need to be made to your diet and lifestyle for any lasting solution to the problem.

Keep in mind that constipation can also be caused by certain drugs and during pregnancy, and will resolve as soon as the medication is stopped or the child delivered. Certain medical conditions could also contribute to the development of constipation, which is why severe or chronic constipation that does not respond to natural treatments for constipation should be reported to a health care professional.

Home Remedies for Constipation

Constipation Treatment using Bael Fruit

Generally all fruits, except banana and jack fruit, are beneficial in the treatment of constipation. Certain fruits are, however, more effective. Bael fruit is regarded as the best of all laxatives. It cleans and tones up the intestines. Its regular use for two or three months throws out even the old accumulated faecal matter. It should be preferably taken in its original form and before dinner. About sixty grams of the fruit are sufficient for an adult.

Constipation Treatment using Pear

Pears are beneficial in the treatment of constipation. Patients suffering from chronic constipation should adopt an exclusive diet of this fruit or it's juice for a few days, but in ordinary cases, a medium-sized pear taken after dinner or with breakfast will have the desired effect.

Constipation Treatment using Guava

Guava is another effective remedy for constipation. When eaten with seeds, it provides roughage to the diet and helps in the normal evacuation of the bowels. One or two guavas should be taken everyday.

Constipation Treatment using Grapes

Grapes have proved very beneficial in overcoming constipation. The combination of the properties of the cellulose, sugar, and organic acid in grapes make them a laxative food. Their field of action is not limited to clearing the bowels only. They also tone up the stomach and intestines and relieve the most chronic constipation. One should take at least 350 gm of this fruit daily to achieve the desired results. When fresh grapes are not available, raisins, soaked in water, can be used. Raisins should be soaked for twenty-four to forty-eight hours. This will make them swell to the original size of the grapes. They should be eaten early in the morning, along with the water in which they have been soaked.

Constipation Treatment using Orange

Orange is also beneficial in the treatment of constipation. Taking one or two oranges at bedtime and again on rising in the morning is an excellent way of stimulating the bowels. The general stimulating influence of orange juice excites peristaltic activity and helps prevent the accumulation of food residue in the colon.

Constipation Treatment using Papaya and Figs

Other fruits specific for constipation are papaya and figs. Half a medium-sized papaya should be eaten at breakfast for it to act as a laxative. Both fresh and dry figs have a laxative effect. Four or five dry figs should be soaked overnight in a little water and eaten in the morning.

Constipation Treatment using Spinach

Among the vegetables, spinach has been considered to be the most vital food for the entire digestive tract from time immemorial. Raw spinach contains the finest organic material for the cleansing, reconstruction, and regeneration of the intestinal tract. Raw spinach juice-100 ml, mixed with an equal quantity of water and taken twice daily, will cure the most aggravated cases of constipation within a few days.

Constipation Treatment using Other Remedies

Half a lime, squeezed is a glass of hot water, with half a teaspoon of salt is also an effective remedy for constipation. Drinking water which has been kept overnight in a copper vessel, first thing in the morning, brings good results. Linseed (alse) is extremely useful in difficult cases of constipation. A teaspoon of linseed swallowed with water before each meal provides both roughage and lubrication.

Drinking a glass of hot water is also known to stimulate bowel movements but this may not suffice in severe cases of constipation.

Physical activity is known to help reduce the risk of constipation and yoga is particularly noteworthy as a physical fitness regime in this regard. Yoga comprises of a variety of postures and movements, many of which stimulate and encourage the bowel functions. Practicing yoga can thereby enhance your digestive systems functioning and eliminate or at least reduce the occurrence of digestive disorders like constipation.

Home Remedies For Constipation

Although constipation treatment with over the counter medications may be extremely effective they are best avoided unless there is severe constipation. Laxatives sold over the counter may offer constipation relief but they don’t really address the cause of the problem. Treating constipation with natural remedies and home treatments should therefore be preferred. This is particularly true in the case of chronic or recurring constipation as repeated or frequent usage of laxatives can cause a host of other problems such as lazy colon syndrome, where defecation becomes impossible without the use of such artificial stimulants.

Frequent or chronic constipation is best treated with home remedies and constipation home cures, while the use of pharmaceutical laxatives may be reserved for constipation relief in severe cases, where home treatments do not facilitate the passage of stools. The treatment or resolution of the problem is however not arrived at simply with evacuation of the bowels. The root cause of the problem needs to be identified and addressed, and this would almost always involve diet and lifestyle changes. Where the cause is due to some underlying medical condition, constipation treatment would actually need to address the other condition to eliminate constipation.

There are plenty of effective and fast home remedies for constipation that can help provide significant relief from the condition. While home remedies for gas, constipation and other digestive disorders may be extremely effective, none of them offer an instant cure or a permanent cure. There are no instant home remedies for constipation, but they do work rather rapidly, showing some quick results. Home treatment for chronic or frequent constipation however requires long term modifications and changes to diet and lifestyle for any lasting cure. Constipation remedies for infants can also be of great help as pharmaceutical products may be dangerous and too strong for babies, but it would be best to always consult your doctor when dealing with constipation or diarrhea in an infant.

Constipation is not only caused by food and lifestyle habits however, but very often by some underlying health condition or due to some physical condition. Pregnancy is one such condition in which constipation is simply a symptom. Constipation remedies during pregnancy will help to relieve the discomfort and remedy the situation, but the problem will only resolve completely after delivery. Natural constipation remedies work just as effectively as constipation medicines nut natural remedies are highly preferable particularly when dealing with constipation during pregnancy or constipation after surgery.

One of the dangers of overtly relying on constipation medications is a possible development of dependence on laxatives for passing stools or a condition called lazy bowel syndrome. In such situations and individual is incapable of passing any bowel movements without consuming laxatives. Natural but quick constipation remedies for swift relief may include eating papayas, bale fruit, or dates and figs that have been soaked overnight, but switching to a diet rich in high fiber foods is most crucial for a permanent cure.

Constipation diet

Natural and Simple Diet Consisting of Unrefined Foods

The most important factor in curing constipation is a natural and simple diet. This should consist of unrefined foods such as wholegrain cereals, bran, honey, lentils, green and leafy vegetables, fresh and dry fruits, and milk products in the form of butter, clarified butter, and cream. The diet alone is not enough.

While you are advised to include plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and wholegrain cereals in your diet you should also be cautioned against the intake of certain foods. While it is not necessary to go on a restrictive diet it is important that you moderate your intake of low fiber and high fat foods like red meats, cheese, and other processed or refined foods. Likewise you need to keep yourself well hydrated with a good intake of water and fresh fruit juices, while steering clear of unhealthy artificial drinks and juices or alcoholic and caffeinated beverages.

Chew Food Properly, Avoid Hurried Meals and Irregular meals

Food should be properly chewed. Hurried meals and meals at odd times should be avoided. Sugar and sugary foods should be strictly avoided. Foods which constipate are all products made of white flour, rice, bread, pulses, cakes, pastries, biscuits, cheese, fleshy foods, preserves, white sugar, and hard-boiled eggs.

7 BENEFITS OF FASTING IN RAMDAN

BURHANI NATURAL SCIENCES
(May Allah grant long and healthy life to Moula Burhanuddin&Aaliqadar Moula TUS  )

Dates
Although three dates are eaten at the start of Iftar every day during Ramadan for spiritual reasons, they also come with the added bonus of multiple health benefits. One of the most important aspects of fasting is getting the right amount of energy, and considering an average serving of dates contains 31 grams of carbohydrates, this is one of the perfect foods to give you a boost. Dates are also a great way of getting some much-needed fibre, which will aid and improve digestion throughout Ramadan. Add to that their high levels of potassium, magnesium and B vitamins, and it quickly becomes apparent that dates are one of the healthiest fruits out there.
Boost your brain
No doubt you’ll be aware of the positive effects fasting can have on your mental wellbeing and spiritual focus, but the brain-boosting powers of Ramadan are even more significant than you might think. A study carried out by scientists in the USA found that the mental focus achieved during Ramadan increases the level of brain-derived neurotrophic factor, which causes the body to produce more brain cells, thus improving brain function. Likewise, a distinct reduction in the amount of the hormone cortisol, produced by the adrenal gland, means that stress levels are greatly reduced both during and after Ramadan.
Ditch bad habits
Because you will be fasting during the day, Ramadan is the perfect time to ditch your bad habits for good. Vices such as smoking and sugary foods should not be indulged during Ramadan, and as you abstain from them your body will gradually acclimatise to their absence, until your addiction is kicked for good. It’s also much easier to quit habits when you do so in a group, which should be easy to find during Ramadan. Fasting’s ability to help you cut out bad habits is so significant that the UK’s National Health Service recommends it as the ideal time to ditch smoking.
Lower cholesterol
We all know that weight loss is one of the possible physical outcomes of fasting during Ramadan, but there’s also a whole host of healthy changes going on behind the scenes. A team of cardiologists in the UAE found that people observing Ramadan enjoy a positive effect on their lipid profile, which means there is a reduction of cholesterol in the blood. Low cholesterol increases cardiovascular health, greatly reducing the risk of suffering from heart disease, a heart attack, or a stroke. What’s more, if you follow a healthy diet after Ramadan, this newly lowered cholesterol level should be easy to maintain.
Lasting appetite reduction
One of the main problems with extreme fad diets is that any weight lost is often quickly put back on, sometimes even with a little added extra. This isn’t the case with Ramadan. The reduction in food consumed throughout fasting causes your stomach to gradually shrink, meaning you’ll need to eat less food to feel full. If you want to get into the habit of healthy eating then Ramadan is a great time to start. When it’s finished your appetite will be lower than it was before, and you’ll be far less likely to overindulge with your eating.
Detoxify
As well as being great for spiritually cleansing yourself, Ramadan acts as a fantastic detox for your body. By not eating or drinking throughout the day your body will be offered the rare chance to detoxify your digestive system throughout the month. When your body starts eating into fat reserves to create energy, it will also burn away any harmful toxins that might be present in fat deposits. This body cleanse will leave a healthy blank slate behind, and is the perfect stepping stone to a consistently healthy lifestyle.
Absorb more nutrients
By not eating throughout the day during Ramadan you’ll find that your metabolism becomes more efficient, meaning the amount of nutrients you absorb from food improves. This is because of an increase in a hormone called adiponectin, which is produced by a combination of fasting and eating late at night, and allows your muscles to absorb more nutrients. This will lead to health benefits all around the body, as various areas are able to better absorb and make use of the nutrients they need to function.

Premature Ejaculation - Natural Remedies

Premature Ejaculation

MAJUN SHABAB JALALI

UNIQUE ANCIENT FORMULA

Premature ejaculation is said to occur when a man ejaculates before either partner attains satisfaction. It is generally not a cause for worry if it occurs infrequently. But men who experience premature ejaculation regularly may suffer from reduced confidence and low self-esteem. It can also lead to relational conflicts. Premature ejaculation is a common complaint that affects a large number of males from time to time. Studies show that 1 out of 3 men may suffer from this condition at some point in their life. The causes of premature ejaculation may be a combination of physical and mental factors. Although many men refrain from seeking treatment due to embarrassment, it must be noted that this is a treatable condition. Treatments for premature ejaculation include medication, counseling and sexual techniques. In most cases, a combination of therapies works well.

Symptoms for Premature Ejaculation

The main symptom of premature ejaculation is the incidence of ejaculation that takes place earlier than both partners would like. This may then lead to feelings of stress or worry. The condition can even occur during masturbation. Premature ejaculation may be categorized as primary or lifelong and secondary or acquired. Primary or lifelong premature ejaculation is said to occur when a man ejaculates within a minute of vaginal penetration. The man may also be unable to delay ejaculation and negative feelings of frustration and avoidance may develop as a result. Secondary or acquired premature ejaculation has the same symptoms as primary premature ejaculation except for one. It occurs after a man has had satisfying sexual interactions previously without facing any problems in ejaculation. Premature ejaculation does not lead to any serious health complications, although it may contribute to concerns in personal life. A strained relationship is a common outcome of premature ejaculation. It may also lead to problems in fertility and may make it difficult for a couple to conceive. If the condition is not treated properly, it may become necessary for a couple to undergo fertility treatment.

It is advisable to consult a doctor if ejaculation occurs prematurely during most sexual interactions. Many men feel that they will be able to rectify the problem themselves, but it helps to discuss the matter with a doctor and seek treatment if necessary.

Causes for Premature Ejaculation

The exact causes of premature ejaculation are not completely understood, but there are several factors that could contribute to the problem. In the past psychological factors were thought to be the main cause, but research has now shown that there is likely to be interplay between different biological and psychological factors. It is believed that previous sexual encounters may lead to a pattern which later on becomes difficult to alter. Hurrying to reach a climax or experiencing guilt during sexual interactions may result in ejaculation problems later on in life. Premature ejaculation may also be linked to erectile dysfunction wherein the anxiety about maintaining an erection during sexual intercourse may lead to hurried ejaculation. Anxiety about one’s sexual performance or any other issues may also contribute to early ejaculation. If premature ejaculation has never occurred before, it is advisable to examine one’s current relationship closely. It is possible that interpersonal problems between partners could be triggering the problem.

Biological factors that may be involved in premature ejaculation include hormonal imbalances, imbalance in the levels of neurotransmitters or brain chemicals and thyroid issues. Heredity and ailments that affect the prostate may also be a cause of the condition. In very rare cases, premature ejaculation may be associated with damage to the nervous system and withdrawal from certain medications.

There are some factors that can increase a man’s risk of premature ejaculation. These include erectile dysfunction, wherein the anxiety over loss of erection may lead to hurried sexual encounters. Health problems may also cause an individual to feel stressed during sexual encounters and this could lead to unconscious premature ejaculation. Strain and stress due to mental or emotional factors may also affect sexual performance.

Remedies for Premature Ejaculation

The treatment for premature ejaculation may include medication, psychological counseling and sexual therapy. Certain types of antidepressants are used to treat premature ejaculation. These medications may have to be tried out in different doses in order to find the one which suits you best. Intake of antidepressants leads to delayed orgasm as a side effect. Therefore these medications are often recommended for men who experience premature ejaculation. Doctors may prescribe different types of selective serotonin inhibitors which help to delay ejaculation. These may produce effects after about ten days. Tricylic antidepressants may be prescribed in case the problem is still not resolved. These medications may not have to be taken daily. Your doctor may advise you to take a small dosage many hours before sexual intercourse as this will be helpful in tackling the problem. It must be kept in mind that antidepressants are not approved as a treatment for this condition. They are known to be effective because they lead to the side effect of delayed orgasm. Therefore it is important to discuss with your doctor regarding the benefits and risks of these medications.

Anesthetic creams which can be applied topically are also sometimes used. Such applications reduce the sensation in the penis and this helps to delay ejaculation. They must be applied a short while before sexual intercourse and are wiped off after sensation has been dulled enough to delay ejaculation. However in some cases, sexual pleasure may be decreased due to the lowered sensitivity. Also, some studies have shown that female partners may experience reduced sensitivity in the genital area even after the anesthetic solution is wiped off. In some rare cases, these topical applications may result in an allergic reaction.

Counseling for men suffering from premature ejaculation includes cognitive behavioral therapy. This involves discussing with the mental health provider about one’s experiences and interpersonal relationships. Done in regular sessions, this type of therapy helps to alleviate feelings of anxiety and enables one to cope with stress. Psychological counseling is effective when used along with medications.

Sexual therapy for premature ejaculation involves taking certain steps before sexual intercourse so that ejaculation can be delayed. One such method of sexual therapy is the squeeze technique. In this technique, the partners must begin sexual activity involving penile stimulation until the man is on the verge of ejaculating. Then the man or the partner must squeeze the end of the penis and hold for some time until the urge subsides. After about 30 seconds, foreplay may resume again. Squeezing the penis reduces the erection and when sexual arousal occurs again, a full erection is achieved. In case the man feels the urge to ejaculate again, the squeezing method may be repeated. This may be done until the man is able to achieve vaginal penetration without ejaculating.

In cases where premature ejaculation is primarily caused due to relational conflicts between the partners, proper communication is essential. Both partners should discuss their anxieties and problems and should also be ready to try various approaches to resolve the issue. This will help to reduce stress and performance anxiety to a large extent. It is important not to place blame and to approach the problem in a supportive and loving way. Couples that are not able to resolve their problems on their own should consult a doctor who can then recommend therapy.

Alternative treatments such as acupuncture are also known to help in treating premature ejaculation and other types of sexual dysfunctions. Many individuals also experience improvement through herbal remedies. Passiflora or passion flower is known to have a calming effect on the physical and mental state of a person and thus enables one to have better control over sexual excitement. This is beneficial in preventing premature ejaculation. The herb ginseng is also widely known for its positive effects on hormonal levels in the body. The flow of blood to the penis can be improved with the help of the herb, ginkgo biloba. This enables a man to have a proper erection and also enhances sexual endurance.

Diet for Premature Ejaculation

The diet for those who suffer from premature ejaculation should consist of vitamins and minerals, blueberries, cereal and eggs. Eggs contain the vitamins A, B, D and E along with minerals such as zinc, selenium, calcium and iron. Eggs also supply the body with cholesterol which helps in producing the sex hormones. Cereals contain folic acid which enhances blood flow and prevents blockage of the arteries. When there is a healthy flow of blood to the penis, attaining and maintaining an erection becomes easier. Blueberries also improve blood circulation to the genital region. However they must be eaten in moderation as excessive amounts can result in diarrhea.

Suggestion for Premature Ejaculation

The intake of certain drugs may contribute to premature ejaculation. Some drugs affect the functioning of the chemical messengers in the nervous system and this may lead to early ejaculation. Drugs that belong to the psychoactive group are known to cause premature ejaculation. These include stimulants that are administered to individuals with psychic disorders and hypnotics that may be used for recreational purposes due to their euphoric effects.

HEALTH BENEFITS OF CUCUMBER

widely cultivated plant in the gourd family Cucurbitaceae, which includes squash, and in the same genus as the muskmelon.(Cucumber).

Cucumbers, scientifically known as
Cucumis sativus, are grown to either be eaten fresh or to be pickled. Those that are to be eaten fresh are commonly called slicing cucumbers. They are cylindrical in shape and commonly range in length from about six to nine inches, although they can smaller or much larger. Their skin, which ranges in color from green to white, may either be smoothed or ridged depending upon the variety. Inside a cucumber is a very pale green flesh that is dense yet aqueous and crunchy at the same time, as well as numerous edible fleshy seeds. Some varieties, which are grown in greenhouses, are seedless, have thinner skins and are longer in length, usually between 12 and 20 inches. These varieties are often referred to as "burpless" cucumbers since people find them easier to digest than the other varieties of cucumbers.
Cucumbers that are cultivated to make pickles are oftentimes much smaller than slicing cucumbers. Gherkins are one variety of cucumbers cultivated for this purpose.

KIDNEY STONE - NATURAL TREATMENT

KIDNEY STONE - NATURAL TREATMENT

The kidneys are one of our vital organs, performing the important job of filtering impurities from the blood and eliminating wastes from the body in the form of urine. The kidneys also play the important role of regulating electrolyte levels in the body, a task that is vital for proper bodily functioning. Urine that is produced is eliminated from the body through the ureters, which is a narrow tube that drains from the kidneys into the bladder. As urine accumulates in the bladder and the bladder gets filled you experience the urge to urinate and the urine is then emptied from the bladder through the urethra. The urethra is a much wider tube as compared to the ureter. Kidney stones can pose a serious problem impairing the kidney functions and obstructing the elimination of urine.

The problem of kidney stones arises because of the crystallization of certain chemicals or minerals in the urine giving rise to different types of kidney stones like uric acid kidney stones or calcium stones. At the time of formation these kidney stones are actually miniscule, smaller than a grain of sand, and may cause no visible symptoms at all. But they tend to grow larger over time reaching up to a tenth of an inch or even larger. The size of the kidney stones however is not always as much of a concern as would be the location of the kidney stones. If stones develop or are present in the urinary tract the condition is referred to as urolithiasis, while the presence of stones in the kidneys is referred to as nephrolithiasis, and stones lodged in the ureter are referred to as ureterolithiasis. If the stone is located in such a position as to cause a blockage or obstruction of urine flow, then it could be problematic.
Kidney Stones Cure
The kidneys continue to function normally even upon the formation of stones. The kidneys continue to filter wastes and generate urine and there is usually no immediate problem. As the stone expands in size or moves the problems can start to emerge. If the kidney stone slips into the ureter it begins to act like a dam, restricting the flow of urine. Pressure from urine accumulation builds up behind the stone deposit and as the pressure builds it causes the kidneys to swell up, causing pain. This is the pain that is associated with kidney stones. As this pressure builds up though, it may cause the stone to be pushed along the course of the ureter, expelling it into the bladder. When this happens the pressure on the kidneys is relieved and the symptoms of a kidney stone will dissipate.

The formation of stones in the kidneys or urinary tract is not an uncommon disorder. The stones are formed from the chemicals usually found in the urine such as uric acid, phosphorus, calcium, and oxalic acid. They may vary in consistency from grit, sand, and gravel-like obstructions the size of a bird's egg. Stones may form and grow because the concentration of a particular substance in the urine exceeds its solubility. Most kidney stones are composed either of calcium oxalate or phosphate, the latter being most common in the presence of infection. About ninety per cent of all stones contain calcium as the chief constituent. More than half of these are mixtures of calcium, ammonium and magnesium, phosphates and carbonates, while the remainder contain oxalate.

Kidney stones are a relatively common problem, and under normal circumstances are non-threatening but should be treated very seriously. Although kidney stones in themselves may not pose any severe risk, neglecting them puts you at serious risk of permanent damage to the kidneys or at risk of other complications developing. Mild cases of kidney stones may in fact need no medical treatment and following some simple home remedies could help to get rid of kidney stones naturally and quite fast. Following certain dietary remedies could also help to dissolve kidney stones naturally. Passing kidney stones can however cause excruciating pain, and the condition does cause other painful symptoms like pain in the back, in the side and just below the ribs, radiating towards the groins and lower abdomen. The pain that is experienced may change however as the kidney stone changes its location. Most home remedies for kidney stones pain and conventional medications are meant to provide kidney stone pain relief. In cases where there is a high risk of kidney stones recurring or in cases of recurrent kidney stones, medical attention would however be necessary.

Kidney stones symptoms

Severe Pain in their Attempt to Pass Down the Ureter

Kidney stones usually cause severe pain in their attempt to pass down the ureter on their way to the bladder. The pain is first felt in the side and, thereafter, in the groin and thighs.

Frequent Desire to Urinate, Painful Urination, Scanty Urination, Nausea

Other symptoms, of kidney stones are a frequent desire to urinate, painful urination, scanty urination, nausea, vomiting, sweating, and chills. The patient may also pass blood with the urine.

Symptoms for Kidney Stones

Kidney stones don’t always cause symptoms as the extent and severity of the symptoms would depend primarily on the location of the kidney stone and then on the size of the stone. Generally the symptoms will not appear until the stone has moved into the ureter. You would then be likely to experience some or possibly all of these symptoms:

•
Severe pain towards the side and back, just beneath the ribs.

•
Pain may radiate from the groins and lower abdomen and urination is likely to be particularly painful.

•
Change in urine color, with urine being pink, red or brown is also likely. You may also feel a persistent urge to urinate.

•
At times there may also be nausea and possibly vomiting.

If there is also an infection you may experience fevers and chills.

Causes of kidney stones

Defects in the General Metabolism

The formation of stones in the kidneys is the result of defects in the general metabolism. They usually occur when the urine becomes highly concentrated due to heavy perspiration or insufficient intake of fluids. They are aggravated by a sedentary life-style.

Wrong Diet, Excess Intake of Acid-Forming Foods, White Flour and Sugar Products

The other causes are a wrong diet, excess intake of acid-forming foods, white flour and sugar products, meat, tea, coffee, condiments and spices, rich foods, and overeating.

Lack of vitamin A, excessive intake of vitamin D

Lack of vitamin A and an excessive intake of vitamin D may also lead to formation of stones.

Causes of Kidney Stones

Keep in mind that a proper diagnosis of the causes is absolutely essential for any effective course of treatment, whether with conventional medical procedures for kidney stone removal and recovery or with natural methods, like a diet to prevent kidney stones. If you suspect that you have kidney stones it is therefore important that you visit your doctor promptly for an accurate diagnosis so as to identify the nature of the kidney stones. This is particularly important from the home treatment aspect as the foods that cause kidney stone will defer depending on the nature of kidney stones. For example, the prevention and treatment of uric acid kidney stones would require avoidance or drastic reduction of foods rich in uric acid for any symptomatic kidney stone relief, while calcium stones would call for a decreased calcium intake.

The actual causes that lead to such an excessive build up of these minerals or chemicals that then crystallize to form kidney stones could be attributed to various factors, mainly dietary, but also hereditary and due to various other factors.

Diet for kidney stones

Avoid foods like alcoholic beverages; condiments and pickles; certain vegetables like cucumber, radish.

A patient with kidney stones should avoid foods, which irritate the kidneys, to control acidity or alkalinity of the urine. He should also ensure adequate intake of fluids to prevent the urine from becoming concentrated. The foods considered irritants to the kidneys are alcoholic beverages; condiments and pickles; certain vegetables like cucumber, radish, tomato, spinach, rhubarb; those with a strong aroma such as asparagus, onion, beans, cabbage, and cauliflower; meat and gravies; and carbonated waters.

For controlling the formation of calcium phosphate stones, the intake of calcium and phosphates should be restricted. Foods which should be avoided are wholewheat flour, Chickpea, peas, soyabean, beet, spinach, cauliflower, turnips, carrots, almonds, and coconuts. When stones are composed of calcium, magnesium phosphates, and carbonates, the diet should be so regulated as to maintain an acidic urine. On the other hand, the urine should be kept alkaline if oxalate and uric acid stones are being formed. In the latter case, fruits and vegetables should be liberally used, and acid-forming foods should be kept to the minimum necessary for satisfactory nutrition. In case of uric stones, foods with a high purine content such as sweet breads, liver, and kidney should be avoided.
