HERBAL REMEDIES FOR CRACKED HEELS

Most of our foot problems arise due to oversight with regards to feet care. Corns, Cracked feet, and other feet ailments can be treated and are avoidable.

Cracked heels are basically an indication that you are not paying enough attention to your feet.

They are either over exposed to or are lacking moisture. Xerosis or Dry skin is the most common cause of heel cracks. They also occur due to callus and thick skin around the heel.

In medical terms, heel fissures are the name give to the condition of cracked heels. Fissures refer to normal linear cuts that develop on the surface of your feet which includes the epidermis. There are times, the fissures go deep beyond the hard layers of the skin and become very painful. When we walk, there is pressure that is applied on the pads of our feet and that makes the skin of the feet expand sideways. When skin around the side of the feet is dry, it cracks, causing cracked heels. Cracked heels could also be indicative of zinc deficiency and deficiency of omega-3 fatty acids.

Although skin cracks can form anywhere on the body, the heels and the toe webs are the most common areas that are affected. Incidentally, they are those parts of the body that we happen to use the most. Although fissures are not harmful in any way, they can be painful and may even bleed at times. That may lead to infections and other complications. Cracked feet occur commonly in senior citizens due to lack of moisture.
