Having dandruff can be an embarrassing event for a person to experience, however there are some home remedies for dandruff that can be tried with success. It is important to remember that dandruff is not a disease but rather an expression of the condition of one’s scalp. Remember good diet. Eat lots of fresh vegetables, green preferably; and drink at least 2 liters of water each day. Also make sure you clean your combs and brushes daily.

Home Remedy for Dandruff – Vinegar

Take two tablespoons of pure vinegar and mix with 6 teaspoons of water and apply directly to the scalp right before bed. Wrap your head in a towel or hair wrap. Wash your hair the next morning when you get up and after rinse again with vinegar. Do this treatment once a week for three months.

Home Remedies for Dandruff – Almond Oil

Another of the more notable home remedies for dandruff is to use almond oil mixed with sulfur powder (one part equal of each) two parts of surgical spirit and four parts distilled or rose water. Rub gently into the scalp and leave on for thirty minutes then shampoo and rinse well.

Home Remedy for Dandruff – Baking Soda

The last of the home remedies for dandruff talked about in this article is the use of baking soda. Place a handful of baking soda onto your wet hair. Then wash off with water. The baking soda helps with the itching and helps in the reduction of the dandruff as well.
